But it also seem to establish for a lot of people that being born in the country wasn't enough to be Canadian, if bad thoughts were thought.

Where has Ignatieff lived for many years before deciding to run for the party leadership? Gwynne Dyer also must be suspect for citizenship since he's not nestled in Newfoundland 24/7.

Or, is that different somehow?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12426618.post-1153413597561332072006-07-20T09:39:00.000-07:002006-07-20T09:39:00.000-07:00czar françois,The current policy is actually not u...czar françois,

The current policy is actually not unfair to those who leave Canada and contribute to other societies, because like you said once someone was born in Canada or has naturalized as a Canadian, that person is a Canadian citizen regardless of where they choose to live and work.

There are those who seem to want to change that policy and demote Canadians who choose to live in other countries to something less. They can certainly support that policy if they want, but it's not the policy we have right now.Idealistic Pragmatisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18296481430598981678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12426618.post-1153364624346554042006-07-19T20:03:00.000-07:002006-07-19T20:03:00.000-07:00Nice post !Nice post !Canadian Tar Heelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08296189877750355753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12426618.post-1153359539413670882006-07-19T18:38:00.000-07:002006-07-19T18:38:00.000-07:00Hear, here!Hear, here!James Bowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11888307747088266395noreply@blogger.com
